The board of directors can range from five to 22 to ensure equitable representation of its membership. Any member can nominate themselves or someone else who is a member to serve by e-mailing the office. A nominating committee comprised of the executive board develops a slate of nominees which is voted on by the membership at its annual meeting held in January. The board elects its officers.

 

An executive board is comprised of the president, vice-president, treasurer, and secretary. Board members serve a three-year term. There are no term limits.

 

The board meets monthly unless business is light and can be accomplished through electronic communications. On months when membership meetings are scheduled, the board meets at the location of, and prior to, the location set for that meeting; otherwise it meets at the Red Oak office. Generally, meetings are scheduled for the third Thursday of each month at 4:30 p.m.

 

Anyone is welcome to attend the board meetings.  If you have a specific issue to bring before the board, please contact the office in advance to be put on the agenda.
